不是所有名言都叫莎士比亚

1.“When I saw you I fell in love and you smiled because you knew.”

我一看到你，就爱上你了。你笑了，因为你知道我一看到你就爱上你了。

真正的出处：意大利歌剧《Falstaff》，虽然这部歌剧是在莎士比亚的《The Merry Wives Of Windsor》（温莎的风流娘们儿）的基础上改编的，但这句话其实是意大利的编剧Arrigo Boito自己写的。

2.“Love is a wonderful terrible thing.”

爱真是一件极好又极坏的事。

真正的出处：Jorge Amado的小说《Gabriela, Clove, and Cinnamon》。

3.“The earth has music for those who listen.”

地球上的音乐为听音乐的人而存在。

真正的出处：可以肯定的是这句话不在莎士比亚的作品中，但不确定的是到底George Santayana还是Oliver Wendall Holmes写的。

4.“You say that you love rain, but you open your umbrella when it rains.

You say that you love the sun, but you find a shadow spot when the sun shines.

You say that you love the wind, but you close your windows when wind blows.

This is why I am afraid, you say that you love me too.”

你说你爱雨，但下雨时你撑开了伞。

你说你爱太阳，但阳光照耀时你找了阴凉处。

你说你爱风，但起风时你关上了窗。

所以我好害怕，因为你也说过你爱我。

真正的出处：一首土耳其诗《I Am Afraid》。再说了，雨伞这个东东在欧洲普及是在17世纪，那时候莎士比亚他老人家已经离世100年了。

5.“The less you speak of greatness, the more shall I think of it.”

你越少提自己的伟大，就越让我想到你的伟大。

真正的出处：这是1601年英国哲学家培根和政治家Edward Coke酒吧里吵架时说的，估计Coke没少说自己的伟大之处。

6.“So dear I love him that

With him, all deaths I could endure

Without him, live no life.”

我是那么爱他

有他在，我可以忍受种种死亡

没有他，我就没有生活可言。

真正的出处：约翰 弥尔顿的《Paradise Lost》（失乐园）。

7.“When words fail music speaks.”

文字无法表达的时候，还有音乐。

真正的出处：安徒生的童话《What The Moon Saw》（月亮看见了）。安徒生可是生活在莎士比亚后的200年。

8.“We’re all in the same game; just different levels. Dealing with the same hell; just different devils.”

我们都在同一个游戏中，只是级别不同。我们都要面对同一个地狱，只是面对不同的魔鬼。

真正的出处：Jadakiss的歌词《Big Dog Status》。

9.“All glory comes from daring to begin.”

一切光荣都源自勇敢的开始。

真正的出处：Eugene Fitch Ware的诗《John Brown》。

10.“Expectation is the root of all heartache.”

期望是所有心痛的根源。

真正的出处：佛教典籍。
